Rappler launches its short film platform with Adjani Arumpac's "Conchita" and Janus Victoria's "Viva Viva Escolta"

With a hundred years of Philippine cinema behind us and a world of online viewing ahead, Rappler launches Act One, a new section dedicated to Filipino-made short films and educational content for filmmakers.

Starting this week, Rappler will release two new titles every month on our website and YouTube channel, beginning with:

Viva Viva Escolta

Directed by Janus Victoria

Enter ‘Act One’: a destination for Filipino short films

Asian Film Academy alumna Janus Victoria crafts a ghostly love letter set in the dwindling district of Escolta.

Other titles in the 2020 line-up include award-winning films from the US and the UK, as well as shorts highlighting emerging directors like Gawad Urian-winner, Sheron Dayoc and Spike Lee mentee, Jess de la Merced.
