MANILA, Philippines – After Jessy Mendiola confirmed that she and TV host Luis Manzano went out with friends, Luis also spoke about the matter.

In an interview with the press during the launch of the new season of Minute To Win It: The Last Man Standing, Monday July 11, Luis admitted that he and Jessy are going out together.

“Lumalabas kami (We go out),” he said. “Kasi kapag-deny ko ‘yon ay magagalit kayo sa aking lahat. Mukha naman akong tanga kapag dineny ko ‘yon.” (Because if I deny it, you’ll all get mad at me. I’ll look stupid if I deny it.)

When asked about the real score between him and Jessy, Luis said: “Sabi ko nga, anything I answer, hahanapan ng mali. Sumagot na nga ako dati, nahanapan ng mali. Eh di tatahimik na lang ako.”

(As I said, anything I answer, people will find fault. I already answered before, and they still found something wrong. I would rather keep quiet.)

Reacting about Jessy speaking up, the TV host simply said, “That’s good.” 

“‘Di kami pwede mag-deny because we have pictures online. Ang weird naman kung i-dedeny ko iyon na may pictures online. Anything else, gagamitin against me. Sabi nga sa lahat na pinakabugbog na statement, ‘I invoke my right against self incrimination,'” Luis said.

(We cannot deny it because we have pictures online. It would be weird if we deny it when we have pictures online. Anything else, they’ll use it against me. As they say one of the most overused statements: ‘I invoke my right to self incrimination.’)

Luis also refused to respond when asked what he felt about his ex-girlfriend Angel Locsin speaking about it. 

“No matter what I say, hahanapan ako ng mali. I hope people will understand that,” he said.

Luis was also asked to comment about the observation that the ladies he has been linked to have been considered as the country’s sexiest, according to FHM Philippines. Aside from Jessy getting the top spot in this year’s FHM magazine list, Angel and Jennylyn Mercado were also number one in the previous years – 2013 and 2015, respectively.

“I don’t want to limit women to titles nor statistics. Napaka-unfair naman sa kanila nun, na parang ano sila na di-numero lang. (That would be very unfair to all of them to be identified by only their statistics.) So yes, it is a prestigious title, to be hailed as the nation’s sexiest but ‘pag ni-refer na sa akin, (but if it’s referring to me) it’s parang (like) putting them as statistics and that’s all unfair to the ladies out there,” he said.

Aside from the new season of Minute to Win It, Luis is also busy hosting Family Feud and The Voice Kids Philippines. – Rappler.com
