Police conducted the operation on Marcaida’s home in Jacana Road, Barangay Bancao-Bancao, at around 6 am Monday, initial information from police said.

The raid was conducted based on a search warrant issued by Judge Reynaldo Alhambra of the Manila Regional Trial Court, for alleged violation of Section 11 (Possession), Art 2  of RA 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

They seized 30 sachets containing white cyrstalline substance of suspected shabu wrapped in a self-sealing transparent plastic packs. Also seized were 4  .45 calibre pistols,  one .22 calibre rifle, 3 rifle grenades, and a fragmentation grenade.

The raid was led by Police Chief Superintendent Graciano Mijares, supported by the Philippine National Police (PNP) Drug Enforcement Group (DEG), the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Special Enforcement Service (SES), and Palawan police.

Marcaida has been identified previously as a “high value target” by the PNP in the ongoing war on drugs.
