About Ana P. Santos

Ana P. Santos is an investigative journalist who specializes in reporting on the intersections of gender, sexuality, and migrant worker rights. The cross border investigations she has led include
exposing the imprisonment of unmarried migrant women with their infants in Qatar and unraveling the trafficking and exploitation of migrant domestic workers by their diplomat employers across the world’s diplomatic epicenters. Ana’s domestic reporting includes unveiling how the country’s divorce ban has spawned a lucrative scamming business and the compounded hardship of teen mothers widowed by the Duterte Administration’s drug war.

Ana writes a gender and sexuality column for Rappler entitled “DASH of SAS” and also hosts “Sex and Sensibilities”, a sexuality education video series.

Ana has a Masters in Gender & Sexuality from the London School of Economics and Political Science where she was a Chevening Scholar (Grade: Distinction). She has an undergraduate degree in Journalism from the University of the Philippines.

Ana’s journalism fellowships include the Pulitzer Center Miel Fellowship, International Women’s Media Foundation Adelante Fellowship, and Reporters Sans Frontières (RSF) Fellowship on Digital Security.

Before becoming a journalist, Ana was Assistant Vice President of a financial institution.
