“Mula noon, hanggang ngayon, Kita-Kits pa rin with McDo”
Through the years, McDonald’s has built its reputation as a quick-service restaurant that serves good food and a place where one can make even greater memories. Many of the millennials now may have tons of childhood stories about playing for hours in the Playplace, collecting different sets of Happy Meal, or even spending a birthday or two with Ronald and the Gang.
These days, however, it seems as if spontaneous food trips are no longer possible. But McDonald’s has been proving us wrong as they quickly adapted to the changing times. With our safety as their number one priority, we can continue saying “Kita-Kits with McDo” even in the new normal.
“When we’re safe, you are too”
“Quality, service, safety, and cleanliness have always been integral to McDonald’s. These exceptional times, we believe that ensuring our customers’ safety starts with the safety of our employees. We have the M Safe program which ensures stringent protocols are in place for our people, for our stores and different distribution channels. Doble ingat kami kaya safe ang lahat sa McDonald’s,” shares Kenneth S. Yang, President and CEO of McDonald’s Philippines.
For their safety, restaurant crew and managers are required to submit a daily health check form, do temperature checks before and after shifts, have their footwear and hands sanitized upon entering the store.
All employees are required to wear face masks or face shields, and hand gloves. They also handwash every 30 minutes. They were also given M Safe care kits which have face masks, alcohol, and Vitamin C for their personal use.
Setting the standard for dine-in safety
At your favorite McDo branch, you may have noticed some new arrangements to keep everyone safe. A “no mask, no entry” policy is followed. Temperature checks, footwear and hand sanitation, and filling out the health check form are required.
McDonald’s has also made the government-required health check form easier to fill out via QR code. Inside, customers must follow the floor markers to ensure proper physical distancing. Counter shields, table shields, and table markers have been installed too to guide customers. There are three more things that you’ll notice inside a McDo store. First, a Safety Manager who goes around offering customers hand sanitizer every 30 minutes and makes sure safety rules are followed by everyone. Another is the frequent sanitation of all areas in the store, especially for those that are frequently-touched by customers. Kiosks are cleaned every after use, too! Lastly, orders are brought to customers, as well, so there’s no crowding in the lobby area. Seeing these really assures you that you are safe at McDo!
No-touch deliveries and drive-thrus
If you want to enjoy your favorite Big Mac and World Famous Fries via take-out, pick up, delivery, or drive-thru, there’s a no-touch policy to keep you safe.
For take out, pick up, or drive-thru, food is placed on a tray for customers. For McDelivery, your order comes with a note that has the temperature of the rider and the crew who prepared your order as an added assurance that your food was prepared safely. Their bags are also sanitized every other use.
Going cashless is highly-recommendable. This has been available even before this pandemic and more people now prefer it.
