MANILA, Philippines – It’s festival season again! Gather all your friends and experience fiesta nights of music and fun with this year’s Invasion Tour. Coming back in full swing on its 3rd year in Davao, Invasion will be at the city’s Kadayawan Festival.
Filipinos are undoubtedly lovers of gatherings, parties, and music, thus having all kinds of festivals held in small towns to big cities to celebrate its culture and people. The festival phenomenon is growing all over the country each year, evolving with a modern flavor and embracing local culture. Major international players in the music festival scene like Ultra Worldwide and ZoukOut have recognized its potential in our country by mostly holding their events in Metro Manila.
Spectrum Philippines is known for bringing a modern festival experience to the Visayas and Mindanao regions through their flagship event, the Invasion Tour. By creatively infusing the region’s local fiesta vibe with a world-class music festival experience, Invasion Tour has been a hit over the years, becoming a staple in four of the Philippine’s major festivals: Kadayawan Festival in Davao, Masskara Festival in Bacolod, Sinulog Festival in Cebu, and Dinagyang Festival in Iloilo.
Upholding their intention to boost the city’s local tourism and industries, Spectrum ensures to promote each stop of the Invasion Tour with carefully planned and conceptualized festival experiences attuned to the local culture and heritage of each stop. From the stage design, the food market, to the right mix of live performances, Invaders (as the festival goers are fondly called) can enjoy a taste of the local flavors and internationally recognized talents at an affordable quality festival experience.
In addition to the massive stage setup and an international-standard show production, this year, Invasion Davao will showcase a world-class Filipino DJ lineup: Davao’s very own Jack Ripper will open the show, followed up by favorites Inno Naguit, Funk Avy, Filipino star-turned international DJ Tom Taus, and Nix Damn P! & Friends – who will be featuring (for the first time on Mindanao soil) DJ-Drummer Duo, Motherbasss.
The food park will also showcase a variety of local food, refreshments, and of course, one thing Davao is well known for, fruits! It’s good to know that the rise of music festivals in the Philippines, which has mostly been in Luzon, has expanded to this region. We can experience a world-class festival without having to fly out to Manila, and at the same time enjoy the Kadayawan Festival. This year's Kadayawan Festival is expected to be packed with more inbound tourists due to the popularity of our President and the curiosity he has sparked about his safe home town.
Gather all your friends and see you in Davao City!
