MANILA, Philippines – Vehicles with license plates ending in 7 and 8 are not barred from plying Metro Manila roads, including Las Piñas and Makati, on Thursday, February 19.
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced the one-day suspension of its number coding scheme on Wednesday, February 18.
“The number coding scheme is LIFTED tomorrow February 19, 2015. (Including Makati and Las Piñas),” the MMDA announced in its Twitter account.
February 19 is the celebration of Chinese New Year, earlier declared as a special non-working day throughout the country. (READ: Palace announces 2015 holidays)
The number coding scheme or the Unified Vehicular Volume Reduction Program (UVVRP) is a system that prohibits certain vehicles, both public and private, from plying Metro Manila roads from 7 am to 7 pm on certain days of the week, depending on the last digits of their license plates. – Rappler.com
