Aboitiz Construction Incorporated (ACI) is looking to hire about 1,200 skilled workers and medical professionals for the rest of 2020, as it resumes its various projects.

ACI said on Tuesday, September 8, that it needs the following people:

  • project managers
  • engineers
  • safety and quality inspectors
  • pipe fitters
  • welders
  • fitters
  • scaffolders
  • crane operators
  • tungsten inert gas welders

Nurses and nurse aides will also be hired to monitor workers’ health as part of ACI’s coronavirus protocols.

ACI said short-listed job candidates will go through trade proficiency exams, as well as health and safety protocols.

New hires will undergo a 14-day quarantine at their designated project sites. ACI said daily essentials will be provided during the quarantine period.

“Amidst the massive disruption in the labor market caused by the global pandemic, we are still fortunate to be able to offer jobs to a sector of Filipino workers who need livelihood the most,” said Nina Ylagan Pedro, ACI vice president for people, reputation, and corporate social responsibility.

Pedro added that they may hire more workers if there are additional projects.

Interested applicants may contact ACI’s human resources department at aci.hr@aboitiz.com or follow Careers at Aboitiz Construction, Inc on Facebook for job openings.

In 2019, ACI said it would hire 4,000 workers in the next 3 to 5 years. That same year, the construction firm hired 2,000 people.

ACI has had local and international clients in mining, shipbuilding, energy and utilities, and manufacturing industries, among others. – Rappler.com
