MANILA, Philippines – Listed property developer Megaworld Corporation's subsidiary Global-Estate Resorts, Incorporated (GERI) will be opening a P2.1-billion hotel at its Boracay Newcoast property in August.
In a regulatory filing, Megaworld said the three-tower Belmont Hotel Boracay will house 442 rooms, ranging from 27 square meters (sqm) to 52 sqm. The hotel will also have rooms to accommodate persons with disability.
Aside from Belmont Hotel, Megaworld already has its Savoy Hotel Boracay in the 150-hectare property.
"Our continuing thrust to help boost tourism in the country is even gaining more momentum as we open more hotels across our tourism townships," GERI president Monica Salomon said.

Located at the ground level, the Belmont Café will serve Asian and Mediterranean-influenced cuisines. Megaworld said the hotel will also make use of fresh produce from Aklan farmers. There will be two more food and beverage outlets in the hotel.
This will be the second Belmont Hotel built by the company, the first being at Newport City in Pasay City. By 2023, Megaworld will be opening another Belmont Hotel at the Iloilo Business Park in Iloilo City.
Aside from the Belmont Hotel line, Megaworld also carries 5 other homegrown brands which total to almost 3,000 hotel rooms. Amid its expansion plans, the property firm will be opening hotels in Bacolod City, Boracay, Iloilo, Laguna, and Parañaque City. – Rappler.com
