Is your favorite Parañaque, Las Piñas resto top taxpayer?

MANILA, Philippines – The government presses on with its program to increase transparency of tax payments in the country as it named the top taxpaying restaurants in Parañaque and Las Piñas.

The Department of Finance (DOF) and Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) released on Wednesday, October 9, a list of the 2011 top 20 restaurant taxpayers for each of the two cities as part of their continuing TaxWatch campaign.

The recent list follows previously featured top taxpayers in Mandaluyong, San Juan, Pasig, Quezon City and Makati.

The tax agency lumps some restaurants together since different brands or branches are part of the same registered corporate owner, which pay the tax dues.

Seven out of the 20 highest-rated dining places in Parañaque were also top settlers of tax dues. Two were registered in Parañaque and Las Piñas while 5 were registered in other RDOs.

In Las Piñas, 10 out of 20 restaurants with the highest ratings from customers were top taxpayers in 2011. One was registered in the two cities and the other 9 were listed with other RDOs.
