A parody video on Disney's princesses has gone viral. Find out why

EVER AFTER. Jon Cozart sings about the fates of four Disney princesses in this parody video on YouTube. Screengrab from YouTube

MANILA, Philippines – Ever wondered what happens after the credits roll in a Disney animated movie? YouTube artist Jon Cozart asked himself the same question one day and made a parody song that sheds light on the fates of Disney’s favorite princesses.

In “After Ever After”, Cozart beatboxes and sings about 4 of Disney’s most loved leading ladies: Belle, Ariel, Jasmine, and Pocahontas. Apparently, life does not end happily ever after for them in Cozart’s imagination.

Ariel has to deal with toxic oil spills polluting the ocean; Jasmine’s husband, Ali, is wanted by the CIA; and Belle’s relationship with the Beast causes an uproar in her village.

Cozart, a 20-year old college student from Texas, said it took him more than two months to write the lyrics, record the audio and shoot the scenes. He published it on March 12. The 4-minute video has since gone viral with over 3.5 million views as of this posting.

This is Cozart’s latest video in a series of YouTube videos that summarize the plots of major films. He first gained fame for his “Harry Potter in 99 seconds” video.

Cozart said he writes, records and edits his videos at home, all while earning a film degree at the University of Texas. – Rappler.com
