MANILA, Philippines – In a surprise twist on La Luna Sangre, Angel Locsin returned to the show, this time as Jacintha Magsaysay.
In a press conference on Thursday, September 7, for the announcement of her return to the show, Angel said she herself was surprised when she found out that she was coming back.

(Like all of you, I was also surprised by [the plot of] La Luna Sangre. But the people behind the show explained to me very well what they want to happen, how I'll surprise people, how I'll reenter, my connection to Richard... I'm just trying to understand my character.)
On the show, Angel now plays Jacintha, a political strategist hired by Sandrino, who plans to run for president.
(Jacintha is a mysterious woman because she came from another country. She was able to help a presidential candidate win despite a scandal because she's very skilled. That's why Sandrino contacted her to be his political strategist, because he wants to win as president of the Philippines.)
According to Henry Quitain, Star Creatives creative manager, Jacintha will be a schemer of sorts on the show, thus viewers have to guess which side she'll be on – Sandrino or that of Malia and Tristan.
Working with Richard
While Angel had scenes with Richard during the pilot week of the show, fans of ChardGel will be delighted to know that as Jacintha, she will have more scenes with him.
When asked to describe working with Richard again, Angel said she found him more focused now.

"Ang saya, ang saya," she said of working with her former leading man. "Iba 'yung comfortable kang may katrabaho.
(Very happy. It's different when you're comfortable with your coworker. And I'm very happy because I tell them that Richard's acting has improved a lot. I've witnessed it, we have so many scenes together, and I also saw his maturity and passion for the craft. His dedication has never wavered, even doubling now compared to 10 years ago. And he's so loved by everyone who's part of La Luna Sangre.)
She also said their dynamics did not change.
"Kung paano kami nagsimula, gano'n pa din," she said. (We're still the same now as when we started.)
Angel also assured fans that whatever changes the storyline and characters in La Luna Sangre are going through is for the best of the show.
Walang kompetensya po dito," she said.
(Don't worry because this show is still Kath and Daniel's. The developments and the changes are all for them, so we're all helping one another. There's no competition here.)
