MANILA, Philippines – Many of our local celebrities joined women all over the world in celebrating International Women's Day on Tuesday, March 8.
Whether they were tributes to their idols and women in their lives, or messages for their fellow women, these actresses and personalities took to social media to celebrate the special day.
Here's what they had to say.
Jessy Mendiola, who has long been rumored to be taking on the role of Darna in the upcoming movie, posted a photo that said, "We all have a Wonder Woman inside of us." She dedicated her post "to all the strong women out there."

Actress KC Concepcion posted a tribute to her idol, Angelina Jolie-Pitt.
She. She inspires me in her evolution, reinvention, and life choices through the years. She isn't perfect, she isn't cookie cutter, she is - today - a rebel with a cause. She came to understand what it meant to be a woman, and became it- freely, wildly, lovingly, courageously. She's the one who rolls with the punches, who kicks a$ with deep, soulful eyes, a sincere, open heart, and a knowing, naughty smile. You never know what she's upto next- she champions causes, dominates yet gives way, takes care of her family, fights for what or who she loves. All the while maintaining respect & placing boundaries where they ought to be. To all the lovely women all over the world. May we continue to support, celebrate and empower one another to be brave. To stand and speak up for everything you believe in. You deserve to be the woman you want to be and have the right to equality. And to all the change makers and women of courage that continue to fight for the equal rights of women across the world. Thank you. You are an inspiration to all of us! Happy International Women's Day! #Planet5050 #IWD2016 A photo posted by Anne Curtis (@annecurtissmith) on Mar 7, 2016 at 8:12pm PST
