LOOK: Winwyn Marquez starts Navy reserve training

Winwyn Marquez began training to be part of the Philippine Navy reserves, and was even elected the president of their Basic Citizens Military Training class.

The beauty queen posted photos of their training on Instagram on August 1, writing in the caption: “BCMC CLASS 01 2020 – Class President, Marquez. Hooyah!! #PhNavyReserveForce.”

She also said that “strict protocol” was followed, and that everyone involved in the training was required to take a rapid test before starting.

Winwyn, who won the Reina Hispanoamericana title in 2017, had earlier said that she signed up for military training “because I want to…that’s it.”

“No need for long explanations. We don’t need to justify what we want to do, we can just show them what we women CAN do,” she said.

She is the latest celebrity to join the reserve force. Her fellow actors Rocco Nacino and Dingdong Dantes are part of the Navy reserves (with Dingdong having the rank of lieutenant commander), while Matteo Guidicelli is a 2nd lieutenant in the Army reserve. – Rappler.com
