MANILA, Philippines – Glaiza de Castro is coming back to the Rappler Live Jam stage, this time to talk about her film Liway, which will have its commercial release on October 10.
Liway debuted in August 2018 at the Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival, where it received the Special Jury Commendation and the Audience Choice Award. It is also the highest-grossing film in Cinemalaya history.
The film is based on the experiences of director Kip Oebanda, who grew up in prison as the son of vocal anti-Marcos dissident Cecillia Flores-Oebanda, who was known as Commander Liway.
In the film, Glaiza plays Commander Liway, and lends her singing talents to bring the character to life.
