"My mom is a very tough woman. She’s stronger than anyone I’ve ever met in my life. She’s the core of the family talaga. And I think in general talaga, moms get to be the core. The dads are always like 'kung anong gusto mo gawin, gawin mo' (whatever you like to do, do it). But the mom gets to be the friend, the enemy, the shoulder to cry on… So that’s my mom rolled into one."

"My mom taught me the value of hard work, not giving up despite anything and everything. We come from a very humble beginnings and I saw how my mom raised us – raised me almost single handedly to provide us for the best education she could give and the best mothering she could give us also.So there, hard work, strength and never giving up."

(My mommy [Lydia] reminds me to always make some time for my kid because time flies so fast. Time flies so fast such that it's like I just gave birth, and now, Jazz is all grown-up. I have to savor each moment I spend because kids grow up so fast. You need to guide and guard them constantly because it can be seen how you raised them with their attitudes and characteristics.)

She said, "Siguro ang pinaka nag-stand out (I guess what stood out) is 'Always take care of yourself.' Nandiyan na yung mga emo moment nung mga mom na '[Kapag] wala na ako... ganun, ganyan (There are those emo moments of moms when they go, 'If already I'm gone and all)' – which is true naman."

"You can never really depend on your mom. You really have to stand up and one day ako – for girls – I’m going to be a mom too, so tama naman (it's just right). You have to take care of yourself."

"Always listen. Mas maganda makinig kaysa sa mas maraming sinasabi (It's always better to listen than say too many things). Palagi iyon (she always reminds me that) and 'Learn from your mistakes and don’t be afraid to explore.'"
