MANILA, Philippines – For the longest time, Arsène Lupin III has only been seen in 2D animation, but now the famous anime master thief can be seen in 3D CGI in the first trailer for the upcoming film Lupin III: The First, which was released on July 10.
The trailer also shows 3D renderings of Lupin III, as well as other characters from the anime, including Jigen, Goemon, Fujiko, and Zenigata.
The film is written and directed by Takashi Yamazaki.
Lupin III began as a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by the late Kazuhiko Katō, who was known by his pen name Monkey Punch. It follows the story of Arsène Lupin III, the grandson of Arsène Lupin, who is considered to be the greatest thief of all time. It has since spawned several anime series and films.
Lupin III: The First is set for release in Japan on December 6. – Rappler.com
