IV of Spades announces they are taking a break

IV of Spades is taking a break as a band as its 3 members Badjao de Castro, Zild Benitez, and Blaster Silonga take time off to pursue their own personal projects.

“The band decided that we’ll be having a break from all the things that we’ve been doing together for the past few years. We will be busy pursuing some other personal interests and take a needed time off as a band,” they said in a statement posted on their Facebook page on Friday, August 21.

They said they won’t be releasing new music or performing together for now.

“With that being said, there are more things out there that we should pay attention to and remember that living itself is a blessing,” they said.

The funk rock group started out as a foursome in 2014, and released several singles in 2016 and 2017, including the hit song “Mundo.” Their then-frontman Unique Salonga departed in 2018 to pursue a solo career.

In 2019, the band released their debut album ClapClapClap! and released two more singles in 2020.

Their current frontman Zild recently released his solo album Homework Machine on August 6. – Rappler.com
