PH bet Jeslyn Santos wins Miss United Continents 2016

MANILA, Philippines – Jeslyn Santos, the country's bet to the Miss United Continents beauty pageant won the title on Saturday,  September 24 at the Palacio De Cristal in Guayaquil, Ecuador.

Jeslyn, 23, bested candidates from around the world for the title. Her court consists of the delegates from Denmark, India, Brazil, Mexico and Panama. She is the first Asian to win the title.

 

 

In her message via Facebook Live, Jeslyn said of her win: "Di ako makapaniwala. Salamat po."  Watch below Jeslyn's greeting and appearance from some of the candidates.

Before becoming the country's representative to the Miss United Continents, Jeslyn, who is from Hagonoy, Bulacan joined the Binibining Pilipinas pageant in 2014 and 2016.

The Miss United Continents, according to the English translation on the official Facebook page, is a beauty contest run by Maria del Carmen de Aguayo, which started as the Miss American Continent in 2006. It has since expanded worldwide and was later renamed to Miss United Continents. – Rappler.com
