Netflix renews 'Dead To Me' for 3rd and final season

Netflix has renewed dark comedy series Dead To Me for a 3rd season, which will also be its last.

Series creator Liz Feldman announced the news on Twitter on Monday, July 6, sharing that original cast and lead stars Christina Applegate (Jen Harding) and Linda Cardellini (Judy Hale) will be reprising their roles. Feldman will also be returning as the show's executive producer and showrunner.

Thanking the show's fans, Applegate said that a final season would be the "best way to tie up the story of these women."

"I will miss these ladies. But we felt this was the best way to tie up the story of these women. Thank you to all the fans. We will be getting back to work when it is safe to do so. Much love," she said.

Dead To Me also stars James Marsden as Steve and Ben Woods. It is produced by Applegate and Will Ferrell, while Cardelinni also served as co-executive producer.

The critically-acclaimed series, which revolves around two widows Jen and Judy who meet in grief therapy, debuted in May 2019 and scored Applegate an Emmy nomination for Best Actress and a Writers Guild Award for Feldman. Its second season premiered in May 2020.  –
