MANILA, Philippines – Oscar-winning actress Viola Davis (How To Get Away with Murder, The Help, Widows) is set to play former First Lady Michelle Obama on Showtime's upcoming TV show, First Ladies.
The White House drama anthology series will dive deep into the personal and political lives of America's influential First Ladies, set in the East Wing of the office.
Its first season will follow the stories and major political decisions of Eleanor Roosevelt, Betty Ford, and Michelle Obama.
To date, 3 hour-long episodes have already been ordered from the show's writer, Aaron Cooley. Viola will also act as executive producer for the series, alongside Cathy Schulman, Jeff Gaspin, and Brad Kaplan. – Rappler.com
