MANILA, Philippines – On Friday, November 25, many took to the streets to protest the burial of former president Ferdinand Marcos at the Libingan ng mga Bayani (Heroes' Cementery), including a few performers and famous personalities.

This, after former president Ferdinand Marcos was buried at the LNMB on November 18, to the outrage of many citizens across the country. Protesters took to the streets to rally against the surprise actions of the Marcoses and its impact on the country today.

The November 25 rally at Luneta Park was organized by the Campaign Against the Return of the Marcoses in Malacañang (Carmma), along with youth and student organizations. Other rallies were held simultaneously all over the country.

Among the performers at Luneta that night were Bayang Barrios, Jess Santiago, and bands like The General Strike and Tubao.

Online, Lourd de Veyra and Jim Paredes retweeted posts and articles about the rallies.

Bianca Gonzalez-Intal also spoke up on social media, saying in a series of tweets: "Tawagin niyo na kaming bias, bobo, bayaran, 'dilawan' at kung anu-ano pang insulto, hindi pa rin nun mababago ang kasaysayan. May kalayaan at karapatan kayong maging pro-Marcos, at may kalayaan at karapatan din kaming maging tutol sa paglibing kay Marcos sa LNMB. May mga kaibigan akong pro-Marcos. Pero hindi kami nagmumurahan at nang-iinsultuhan dahil lang iba kami ng paniniwala. Demokrasya."

(Call us biased, stupid, bribed, 'yellow' and any other insults, history still won't change. You are free and you have the right to be pro-Marcos, and we are free and have the right to be opposed to the burial of Marcos at the LNMB. I have friends who are pro-Marcos. But we don't curse at each other and insult each other just because we have different beliefs. Democracy.)
