The Department of Health (DOH) reported 4,226 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Philippines on August 8, Saturday, bringing the country’s total confirmed cases to 126,885.

Some 49% of about 11,500 isolation beds, and 51% of around 4,400 ward beds for coronavirus patients are also occupied.

Meanwhile, 70% of some 2,000 mechanical ventilators remain available.

The DOH said 1,606,227 total individuals have been tested for COVID-19 by 76 licensed RT-PCR laboratories, and 24 licensed GeneXpert laboratories.
