MANILA, Philippines – Motorists are advised to take alternate routes on Wednesday, February 25, as portions of EDSA are set to be closed to traffic in observance of the 29th anniversary of the EDSA People Power revolution.
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Tuesday told motorists to avoid the EDSA Shrine area in Quezon City, the main venue of the activities commemorating the February 25, 1986, revolution that overthrew dictator Ferdinand Marcos.
The MMDA said the stretch of EDSA northbound from Shaw Boulevard in Mandaluyong City to Santolan in Quezon City will be closed on Wednesday from midnight until 4 pm.
The following roads in parts of Mandaluyong City, Pasig City, and Quezon City will be closed:
Shaw Boulevard to Santolan and all perpendicular roads from east side
White Plains, Quezon City
The MMDA advised motorists to take the following alternate routes:
From EDSA northbound
From EDSA southbound
MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino said 1,104 personnel will be deployed to direct traffic and guide motorists taking alternate routes. – Rappler.com
