DAVAO CITY, Philippines (3rd UPDATE) – Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte on Monday, September 5, announced a P2 million reward for information on or the actual arrest of the suspects behind a deadly blast that killed 14 in the city.
Duterte, daughter of President Rodrigo Duterte, said P1 million would be given to those who could provide information – the name and current location – on the suspect. Another P1 million will be given to whoever could bring the suspect to authorities.
"Ihatid ninyo sa amin, posasan ninyo, ihatid 'nyo sa Davao police office," she said in a chance interview after the city's Monday flag raising ceremony, the first since the blast.

Duterte said that the authorities want the suspects to be alive.
The Davao City mayor said: "We want him alive. Emphasize ko 'yan. We want him alive because we want to talk to him kung sino mga kasama niya, anong grupo sila, and gusto namin malaman kung ano pa mga plano nila na mga terrorist activities and gusto rin namin malaman kung bakit."

Speaking before employees of the Davao City hall, the mayor announced the appointed of Benito de Leon, a retired military general, as the new chief of Davao's Public Safety and Security Command Center. The Command Center handles the city's response units for various emergencies.
