TIME-LAPSE: Earth Hour 2013

MANILA, Philippines - Lights out?

Metro Manila's skyline did not go entirely black Saturday night, March 23, for Earth Hour 2013. But there was a good showing from among residents and workers in high-rise buildings, billboard operators, and even local government units that switched off streetlights.

Rappler's John Javellana gives us a time-lapse video of the skyline of Guadalupe in Makati City.

Check out our before and after photos, too.

LOOK CLOSER: From afar, it can be quite unnoticeable how Manila participated in this year's Earth Hour. But look closer and you will notice streetlights, billboards and high rise buildings go dark. RAPPLER/John Javellana
