MANILA, Philippines – It will be a rainy Sunday over Caraga, Davao Oriental and Compostela Valley as Tropical Depression Agaton maintains strength and remains almost stationary.
In its 5 pm update on Saturday, January 18, state weather bureau PAGASA said the 3 areas will have rains with gusty winds with moderate to rough seas.
Meanwhile, Visayas can expect cloudy skies with moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms. This may trigger flashfloods and landslides. In Northern Mindanao, Davao, and the region of Bicol, it will be cloudy with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms.
Palawan and the rest of Mindanao will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, while Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will be cloudy with light rains.
A northeast monsoon is affecting Luzon.
Coastal seas throughout the archipelago will be moderate to rough as moderate to strong winds blow from the northeast over Luzon and Visayas, and from northeast to northwest over Mindanao.
Agaton is now 185 km East of Hinatuan, Surigao Del Sur, or 305 km southeast of Surigao City, with maximum winds of 55 km/h. (READ: Agaton: Heavy rain over Haiyan areas)
