Nearly all presidential and vice-presidential candidates are set to square off during CNN Philippines’ debates from 5 to 7 pm on Saturday, February 26 (for vice-presidential bets) and Sunday, February 27 (for presidential bets).
Nine presidential candidates and seven vice-presidential bets have confirmed their attendance as of February 18, CNN Philippines said. Hosted by CNN Philippines anchors, the debates are slated to take place at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, live and in person.

Robredo roasts debate absentee Marcos: A leader shows up in the most difficult times
Asked about the importance of debates, Robredo said it’s not only an opportunity for candidates to present their platforms, it’s also chance for Filipinos to see the true character of the people applying to be their next president.
And when a candidate does not show up, it’s a failure in leadership, she said.
“‘Yung number one ingredient din ng leadership, aside from character, is you show up in the most difficult times. ‘Pag hindi ka mag-show up in the most difficult times, hindi ka lider,” said Robredo.

Cyberattack hits CNN Philippines on day of presidential debate
The website of news outlet CNN Philippines was targeted by a cyberattack as it hosted a presidential debate for the 2022 elections on Sunday night, February 27.
In an advisory posted on its social media channels at around 7:30 pm, CNN Philippines said its website became inaccessible during the debate due to a a DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attack.
