MANILA, Philippines – The Philippines’ national under-16 basketball team won its third straight game in the 2015 FIBA Asia Under-16 Championship by taking care of Iraq, 78-69, on Sunday, November 1, at the Britama Arena in Indonesia.

Gian Robert Mamuyac led the winning side by scoring 16 points in addition to 5 boards and 5 steals. 

Kris Harvey Pagsanjan also played well, recording 13 points and 5 assists in the win, while Samjosef Belangel and Jason Credo had 10 and 9 points, respectively.

Up by 7 at halftime, Batang Gilas used a 20-11 third quarter to take control of the game en route to the victory.

The national team is now tied with defending champion China atop Group F with 3-0 records. 

Iraq, which had 35 turnovers in the loss, fell to 0-3.

The Philippines will be back in action on Monday, November 2, against 2-1 Korea. – Rappler.com
