MANILA, Philippines – Naturalized Filipino and Gilas big man Andray Blatche is set to rejoin the Philippine men’s national basketball team by the end of this week and could be available for Coach Tab Baldwin’s team’s last game in the 37th William Jones Cup in Taiwan.
According to Inquirer reporter Musong Castillo, the 6-foot-11 former NBA player, who has yet to see action in the Jones Cup, will rejoin the team on Saturday, September 5 and will arrive at around 8:00 PM.
Blatche will miss Gilas’ game against USA Select-Overtake on Saturday at 5 pm, but could be in uniform against the currently winless Chinese-Taipei B on Sunday, September 6.
Blatche was supposed to join Gilas for their entire Jones Cup campaign, but returned to the United States to attend the funeral of his uncle and attend to his ailing mother.
