MANILA, Philippines – Gilas Pilipinas head coach Tab Baldwin took time out on Monday, February 29 to share interesting insights concerning the Philippine national basketball team following the usual late-night practice at the Moro Lorenzo Sports Center inside Ateneo de Manila University.
Baldwin discussed with Rappler how he selects players fit for the national team pool, his thoughts on PBA stars James Yap and Vic Manuel, as well as the team's preparations for the 2016 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament to be hosted by Manila this July.
The seasoned international coach likewise touched on naturalized big man Andray Blatche's arrival, and the likelihood of Fil-Am Los Angeles Laker Jordan Clarkson playing for Gilas.
He also offered more on newcomers Mac Belo and Roger Pogoy, collegiate stars from Far Eastern University who joined Gilas practice for the first time on Monday.
