ONE: No Surrender airs live this Friday with Fil-Kiwi Mark Abelardo battling Fabricio Andrade

ONE Championship will have a new home on Philippine television.

ONE and TV5 recently announced a multi-year partnership and it kicks off with ONE: No Surrender this Friday, July 31.

The event will air live at 8:30 pm on the network’s sports arms – One Sports and One Sports+ – and then it will re-air the next day on TV5 at 11 pm.

ONE Championship, TV5 ink multi-year partnership

“It is with great excitement that I announce a multi-year partnership with one of the largest broadcasting companies in the Philippines. TV5 is the nationwide leader in digital innovation,” ONE chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong said.

“Together, we will bring new content offerings to our fans, beginning with ONE: No Surrender, live from Bangkok.”

The partnership couldn’t have come at a better time as TV5 continues to rack up various international sports leagues for Philippine television.

“We are very excited to bring ONE Championship to all Filipino viewers on our Pay TV and Free to Air platforms. It is a welcome addition to the growing list of world class sports properties that we offer,” Cignal TV and TV5 president and CEO Robert P. Galang said.

“This is yet another step in our continued mission to deliver the best sports content to all our viewers and subscribers.”

Just last Monday, the network announced its acquisition of the rights to air the National Basketball Association – just in time for its return.

And after experiencing the successful broadcast of ONE: Century in October 2019, partnering with ONE is a no-brainer.

“Fight Sports has always been a strong content offering in Cignal. When the opportunity for a partnership with ONE Championship presented itself this year, we knew it was something we could not pass up,” said Sienna Olaso, FVP, head of channels and content of Cignal TV.

“It started out as a one-off broadcast of ONE’s 100th event in October 2019, and because of the event’s success on our platform, we knew that a partnership like this was something that would definitely excite our CIGNAL subscribers. “

At ONE: No Surrender, Filipino-Kiwi Mark “Tyson” Fairtex Abelardo will battle Fabrício “Wonderboy” Andrade in a 67-kilogram catchweight contest.

In the main event, Rodtang “The Iron Man” Jitmuangnon defends his ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Title against compatriot Petchdam “The Baby Shark” Petchyindee Academy, and Petchmorakot Petchyindee Academy defends his ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Title against “The Boxing Computer” Yodsanklai IWE Fairtex.
