Abueva, Tubid, others fined over Game 2 rough play

MANILA, Philippines – PBA Commissioner Chito Salud handed down fines but no suspensions to the players and coaching staff involved in the skirmishes during Game 2 of the 2015 PBA Philippine Cup Finals.

Alaska's Calvin Abueva will have to pay over P15,000 in fines, followed by San Miguel's Ronald Tubid (P13,000) for a flagrant foul and for flopping.

A statement issued by the Office the Commissioner on Sunday, January 11, 2015 just before tip off of Game 3, indicated that the situation was carefully reviewed.

Below is the breakdown of the fines.

Sanctions for the utility personnel of both squads have yet to be determined but they have been instructed to not report for Game 3.

On Friday, January 9, 2015, the San Miguel Beermen levelled the best-of-7 finals series vs the Alaska Aces but not after some intense physical and verbal confrontations between some of the players.

One of the plays even resulted to a bloodied forehead of former MVP Santos. He left the game briefly but returned to help his team even the series at one game apiece.
