Jones flexes muscles as TNT buries winless San Miguel

ANTIPOLO CITY, Philippines – Terrence Jones shone on both ends to lift TNT to a 110-97 romp of San Miguel in the 2019 PBA Commissioner's Cup at the Ynares Center here on Saturday, June 8.

Jones delivered 30 points, 18 rebounds, 5 blocks, 4 assists, and 2 steals, and received sufficient help from the locals as the KaTropa racked up their fourth win in 5 games – all double-digit victories.

Troy Rosario had 17 points, Roger Pogoy finished with 15 points, while Jayson Castro barely missed on another triple-double with 9 points, 15 assists, and 10 rebounds in the win that saw TNT hold off a gallant stand from its rivals.

Down by as many as 24 points, the Beermen managed to narrow the gap to 8 points with less than 3 minutes left off a Marcio Lassiter jumper, 97-105, before the KaTropa sealed the triumph with 5 unanswered points.

Anthony Semerad restored order for TNT with a three-pointer, while Jones punctuated the win with a dunk.

Don Trollano chipped in 13 points, Semerad had 11 points, while Ryan Reyes added 8 points for the KaTropa, who are now tied at 2nd place with NorthPort.

Von Pessumal made PBA history for most three-pointers without a miss with 8 triples and finished with a career-high 24 points off the bench, but his explosion was not enough for the Beermen to get their first win after two games.

Charles Rhodes put up 20 points, 11 rebounds, and 2 steals, Marcio Lassiter added 16 points, while June Mar Fajardo chimed in 13 points, 13 rebounds, and 3 blocks in the losing effort.
