MANILA, Philippines – PBA players then and now gathered together as the league honored its 40 Greatest Players to commemorate the league's rich 40-year history on Wednesday, April 8 in the Newport Performing Arts Theatre at Resorts World Manila.

Instead of wearing their mother teams' jerseys, some current PBA players looked dapper in their suit and tie while others even participated in a mini-fashion show donning outfits fitted for the summer weather.

In the program, the PBA also unveiled its plans for the fans this year, which include the production of dog tags, and championship ring replicas; a PBA game app and a PBA app built-in on the myPhone; a PBA documentary to be shown in cinemas; a PBA magazine called Life; and a PBA branded credit card in partnership with the Bank of Commerce.

With my TNT brothers @jaywill_17 and @kelwilliams21dot at the PBA's 40 Greatest ceremony. Blessed with the opportunity to go to to war with these guys thru the years, and thankful we could all join a very special Basketball Fraternity together. #Family #PBAs40Greatest #WeGotRings #ItsJustDifferent #NothingGivenEverythingEarned A photo posted by Jimmy Alapag (@jalapag3) on Apr 8, 2015 at 8:27am PDT

Got the chance tonight to tell some of our old stories about our time together on the National Team back in 07'. Some of the toughest battles in my career were with and against these guys. Nothin but love and respect for all of them. #PBAs40Greatest @47markcaguioa @agelessasi88 @emenk30 @jayhelterbrand A photo posted by Jimmy Alapag (@jalapag3) on Apr 8, 2015 at 9:16am PDT

Johnny Abarrientos and Hector Calma were the two names I heard most when I arrived in the Philippines in 02'. They helped set the bar for point guards in the PBA. What an absolute honor to share the stage with them tonight. #PBAs40Greatest #TheFlyingA #TheDirector #TheCaptain A photo posted by Jimmy Alapag (@jalapag3) on Apr 8, 2015 at 9:45am PDT
