NLEX Road Warriors veteran Larry Fonacier won’t see action when the PBA restarts its season in a league bubble in Clark, Pampanga.

“Yes, we excused him. His wife has health issues,” NLEX head coach Yeng Guiao told Rappler through a text message on Monday, September 21.

“The team and management understands his situation. Family is always a priority,” added Guiao.

Fonacier became the first player who decided not to play in the season resumption, as the PBA plans to restart the stalled Philippine Cup in a semi-bubble setting in Clark on October 9.

The conference will run until the second week of December, with two games being played daily.

Kiefer Ravena and Kevin Alas, who have been signed to fresh contracts, are expected to lead the Road Warriors as they try to bounce back from their quarterfinals exit in the Governors’ Cup last season. – Rappler.com
