IN PHOTOS: UAAP-NCAA Collegiate Basketball Awards winners

MANILA, Philippines – The best and the brightest of collegiate basketball were feted by the UAAP-NCAA Collegiate Press Corps during the Collegiate Basketball Awards on Wednesday, January 27 at Saisaki-Kamayan restaurant in Greenhills.

Mac Belo was awarded the highest honor of Smart Player of the Year after a successful year of winning gold at the SEA Games with the national team, winning a UAAP championship and the Finals MVP plum to end his collegiate career with the FEU Tamaraws.

The UAAP Coach of the Year is Nash Racela, the man who piloted the Tamaraws to its first title in a decade. Aldin Ayo, who likewise spearheaded a breakthrough for the Letran Knights with the school's first NCAA basketball title in a decade, was named NCAA Coach of the Year. Ayo has moved on to coach the UAAP's DLSU Green Archers.

The Collegiate Basketball Mythical Team is comprised of Collegiate Basketball Mythical Team Perpetual Help's Scottie Thompson, UST's Kevin Ferrer, Ateneo's Kiefer Ravena, Mapua's Allwell Oraeme, and FEU's Belo.

Legendary UST coach and now Perpetual Help mentor Aric Del Rosario was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
