CEBU CITY, Philippines – The Philippines, represented by the University of Cebu (UC) paddlers, reaffirmed their dominance over the Malaysian paddlers as they took the team title in both men’s and women’s divisions of the table tennis competition in the 1st Asia Pacific University Games at the Cebu Provincial Capitol Social Hall on December 5.
Both UC men’s and women’s teams defeated Malaysia, manned by students from Universiti of Teknologi – MARA (UTM) in straight sets, 2-0.
According to tournament director Jessica Honoridez, this is the second meeting for both teams as they also competed against each other last August during the International Sports Fiesta, a mixed competition held in Malaysia wherein the Philippines also won.
