The game requires iOS 8.0 or later, and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices but is optimized for iPhone 5.
Square Enix also launched the Final Fantasy Portal App on Thursday, August 20, where fans of the series can stay up to date with news and releases. While there is no word regarding an Android version release of Final Fantasy VII, the Portal App is available for downloading both on the Apple Store and Google Play Store.
Final Fantasy VII follows the tale of former Shinra soldier Cloud Strife as he teams up with rebel group AVALANCHE and eventually crosses paths with the villain Sephiroth.
The game's combination of story-telling, 3D computer graphics, and familiar turn-based style battle system endeared the role-playing-game to millions of gamers, developing a loyal fanbase that eventually pushed Square Enix to come up with a remake.
