MANILA, Philippines – Pop-up cameras? Teardrop notches? So last year. We've just gotten a glimpse of a new implementation of front cameras wherein they're seemingly housed under the glass display, necessitating no notches or pop-up mechanisms.
OPPO fired off first, tweeting a video showing the top-half of the phone and a finger hovering above it, which is eventually seen and captured by the seemingly invisible front camera.

A few hours later, Xiaomi fired back with their own video, showing two phones side by side, with one phone obviously showing a notch. The user eventually sets that phone down, and proceeds to show off the other phone and its front camera – again, invisible, but able to show the user's face.
