Sakay.ph launches redesigned app with updated route data

MANILA, Philippines – Sakay.ph announced a redesign and update of its application, providing users with updated information on commuting routes in Metro Manila.

The update arrived on Android, iOS, and the web earlier this month with a new design and updated user interface to make it easier to use.

The update to the various platforms also came with the latest updates in terms of route information for jeepneys, buses and point-to-point buses, trains, UV Express vehicles, and ferries.

In a statement, Rodrick Tan, head of Sakay.ph's Data and Research group, said, "The team has spent a lot of time researching and double-checking our route data, because we want to make sure people don’t get lost." 

"We use both research and user feedback to make sure the information we serve is a good reflection of what’s happening on the streets," he added.

Philip Cheang, Head of Sakay.ph product development, also said this would pave the way for further iterations on the app. 

"We’ve helped over a million users since we started this in 2013, and we’re always striving to improve. This update makes our service the best it’s ever been, but it also works as the foundation for many more improvements to come. For the Sakay.ph team, this is a new beginning, and the change in branding is meant to reflect that. This is our first step towards something even bigger," said Cheang. – Rappler.com
